If you are off to see the otters and butterflies at the sanctuary the South Devon Railway is close by, so why not steam train ride into your excursion? South Devon Railway is multi-award-winning and has events running throughout the year. The train travels along our seven-mile stretch of the former Great Western Railway branch line, built in 1872. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the River Dart valley as you journey between Buckfastleigh and Totnes on our charming steam trains. Both destinations are worthwhile to visit.
