The Church House, Widecombe-in-the-Moor

One of the most picturesque villages on Dartmoor must be Widecombe- in-the-Moor where you will find a fine example of a 16th-century church house, originally used for parish festivities or ‘ales’. Today the Church House is still in use by the local community with various groups and clubs using it, as well as the monthly village market and there’s shop in Sexton’s Cottage which sells a range of gifts, books and home wares. An added bonus is Sexton’s Gallery, displaying artworks, ceramics and baskets made by talented local Dartmoor artists, weavers and potters.
