Castle Drogo - dramatic architecture overlooking the Teign Gorge

Dramatic architecture with a stunning setting, Castle Drogo is the highest garden cared for my the National Trust. This castle overlooks the Teign Gorge. It boasts being the last castle to be built in England designed and built by renowned 20th century architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. Recent conservation work has been made to Drogo, so it’s well worth a visit, plus it is only 15 mins from the White Hart hotel.  Lutyens designed garden is colourful in all seasons, and there are miles of pathways to explore in the Teign Gorge from along the bubbling river to Wooston hillfort, high above the gorge.

Following a £500,000 refurbishment, our Grade II-listed hotel is more comfortable and characterful than ever. There are 28 tastefully furnished rooms, many with views over Dartmoor.
