Your day, made perfect
Do you have a question about weddings at the White Hart Hotel? We’d be delighted to help. Check our frequently asked questions below or get in touch with our wedding team on 01647 440500.
Where can I find the White Hart Hotel?
Since 1775, the White Hart Hotel has stood at the crossroads in the heart of Moretonhampstead. This award-winning market town is nestled within the beautiful surroundings of Dartmoor National Park, yet is easily accessible by road from Exeter or Newton Abbot.
Where is the nearest licensed wedding venue?
Many couples who celebrate their wedding at the White Hart Hotel choose to marry at the nearby St Andrew’s Church. This inclusive Anglican church is cherished for its beautiful surroundings and historical architecture. The church has occupied the same site since around 1100.
How many guests can you accommodate?
We have 28 individually designed bedrooms, each tastefully modernised to guarantee total comfort while preserving the unique historical character of our 250-year-old hotel. Our Stag Suite, meanwhile, is ideal for an intimate wedding reception with up to 48 guests.
Can you recommend local suppliers?
Yes. We’ve forged strong relationships with many local suppliers, including pastry chefs, florists and make-up artists. Get in touch with our team and we’ll be happy to recommend some to you.
Is parking available for guests?
Yes. There are two council-run car parks within easy walking distance of our hotel. The closest is Station Road Car Park, which you can reach in less than two minutes.
Can I take a tour before my wedding?
Yes – and we’d thoroughly recommend it. With 250 years of history behind it, the White Hart Hotel has a special character that’s quite unique among Dartmoor venues. You really have to see it for yourself. To arrange a guided tour, book a slot online or call our team on 01647 440500.
Where can I take photographs?
The White Hart Hotel is set in a Grade II-listed Georgian building that retains many period features. We think you’ll find it quite photogenic. Elsewhere in town, you’ll find many charming historical buildings and stunning countryside scenery. A favourite spot for photographs is St Andrew’s Church, whose location on the edge of Moretonhampstead affords some of the town’s best views.
