The White Hart Hotel reopened on 6 June after a 4-month £500,000 refurbishment

Relax at The White Hart Hotel Dartmoor, Moretonhampstead, Devon

The formerly ‘tired’ White Hart is once again the superb 250 year old Georgian hostelry it once was, having had its bars, restaurant, kitchen and communal areas totally refurbished by the Jackson family who acquired it in February 2024.

As well as preserving and enhancing the character of this historic building and providing more comfort and luxury for the hotel’s guests, the Jacksons bring the extremely high standards of service to the White Hart that they honed at their previously very successful hotel, the famous Jamaica Inn on Bodmin Moor.

In what is a truly family run business, James Jackson and his partner Hannah Chester are applying their individual management skills, James’ father Allen provides his experienced guiding hand and half-brother Richard fixes the building and much, much more!  The family’s goal is to ensure every guest staying, or just coming for a meal or drinks, has a memorable visit.
